“But Jeshurun grew fat; you grew fat, stout, and sleek; then he forsook God who made him and scoffed at the Rock of his salvation.
My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them and healing to all their flesh.
She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint.
And the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, “I fear my lord the king, who assigned your food and your drink; for why should he see that you were in worse condition than the youths who are of your own age? So you would endanger my head with the kind.” Then Daniel said to the steward whom the chief of the eunuchs had assigned over Daniel, Hananiah, Misael, and Azariah, “Test your servants for ten days; let us be given vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then let our appearance and the appearance of the youths who eat the king’s food be observed by you, and deal with your servants according to what you see. : So he listened to them in this matter and tested them for ten days . . .
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17
Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price, so glorify God in your body.
1 Corinthians 9:26-27
Therefore, I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
1 Corinthians 10:31
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control; against such things, there is no law.
And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit.
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
1 Timothy 4:8
For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
2 Peter 1:5-6
For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
Scriptures on God’s Breath
Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the BREATH of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.
Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to these bones and say, dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again! I will put flesh and muscles on you and cover you with skin. I will put breath into you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.
Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, thus says the Lord GOD: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”
Thus says God, the LORD, who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and what comes from it, who gives breath to the people on it and spirit to those who walk in it…
As long as my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils, my lips will not speak falsehood, and my tongue will not utter deceit.
But it is the spirit in man, the breath of the Almighty, that makes him understand.
The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
The Lord merely spoke & the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born.
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Praise the LORD!
Then he breathed on them and said, Receive the Holy Spirit.
…nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.
2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.
